Drug Trafficking And Its Effects On America - 1261 Words

The large country of Mexico is currently having a long and hard battle against the raging and harmful issues that threatens to destroy humanity. Drug trafficking has become the king of these issues, with the other issues slowly branching off as subjects to serve their king. Currently, Mexican drug cartels dominate the wholesale illicit drug market, earning $13.4 to $49.4 billion annually. Since this investment is extremely large, it has become an exhausting challenge to try to destroy the drug trafficking as it threatens to hurt innocents. As the danger of drugs drifts in the streets of Mexico, so does the dangers of violence, homicides, and kidnappings. Homicides are currently knocking on Mexico’s citizens’ doors, ready to take them. Forty to fifty percent of homicides in Mexico are currently due to drug violence. In September 2014, forty-three students protested against drugs and they were kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by a gang in Guerrero. The gang was working i n cahoots with the local police. The bodies were burned and disposed of in garbage dumps and in rivers. Only two of the forty-three bodies of have been identified. The other forty-one bodies were too badly damaged. Additionally in 2012, a massacre occurred in Tamaulipas.
